Yes, you read that right. Times must be changing, and this probably isn’t your mom’s Tupperware anymore. According to PR Newswire, Ice-T (Law & Order SVU) is partnering with Tupperware to host “an interactive hip-hop workshop for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, followed by a celebratory Tupperware Party benefiting the organization. In celebration of Black History Month and inspired by our country's renewed declaration to "give back," now more than ever the importance of 'mentorship through music' is relevant and impactful.” They go on to say that Ice-T will share his “inspiration and motivation for creating music, and will be discussing his emotional and creative process behind writing raps.”
It is also being reported that he will be having a “star-studded Tupperware Party in Manhattan, with net proceeds from the sale of Tupperware benefitting the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. Guests will enjoy signature 'Ice-Tini' cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served on Tupperware products, as well as music provided by celebrity DJ, D-Nice.” I can only image what Ice-T’s wife Coco will be wearing…maybe some strategically placed Tupperware bowls?
Ice-T has also helped to promote Tupperware before. You may recall that Ice-T hosted a Super Bowl Tupperware party in 2008, calling it the “Tupperbowl”. (I don’t make up this stuff, I just report it.)
Personally, I find Ice-T and Tupperware a very odd combination. Still, all kidding aside, it is nice that he and Tupperware are partnering for a good cause.
