Jeff Goldblum, Saffron Burrows Attend “Character Approved” Reception

Law & Order Criminal Intent’s Jeff Goldblum and show newbie Saffron Burrows attended the USA Network and Vanity Fair 2010 Character Approved Awards cocktail reception, which was held at The IAC Building on February 25, 2010 in New York City. Here are the photos. Now all they need to be is “Law & Order Criminal Intent Fan Approved.” We'’ll see how that works when Criminal Intent starts back up at the end of March.

Please note: I am sorry, but the photos are no longer available.

"Fan approved"? I have read plenty of positive comments from viewers on Goldblum/Nichols Including whose blog this is.:) The Nichols episodes are practical the same as the Gorens ratings wise. In fact the highest rated episode of the season was a Nichols. So Someone must approve.

When I referred to "fan approved" I meant the new pairing of Goldblum and Saffron Burrows, who will play Goldblum's partner on the show. I haven't seen any of these episodes nor have I seen any clips from any of the episodes with Burrows, so I haven't put my stamp of approval on the changes as yet. I thought that Goldblum as Nichols worked very well with both Nicholson (Wheeler) and Erbe (Eames) but both will be gone from the show. If the fans of the show don't like this new pairing, and with favorites D'onofrio and Erbe gone, there may be fewer long time fans watching the show. If you lose fans, you lose viewers, the show loses advertisers, and before you know it, the show is canceled. So, being "fan approved" is very important to the survival of Law & Order Criminal Intent.

Great photos, I understand your "fan approved" statement. I hope to see the Series 9 promotional photo's soon, last years made Jeff look awful and all the cast were overly airbrushed.

Goldblum did well with whoever they teamed him with.I watched Burrows in a movie on Sci-Fi ch. right after it was announced she was joining the cast. She played a police Det.fighting vampires in London. She should be just fine. The point I was trying to make is CI fans(some of them anyway) have already approved Jeff's Nichols. He has received some great reviews. Also the ratings had remained steady for season 8. More or less consistent no matter if It was a Goren episode or a Nichols. Thanks for the great L&O blogs.I stop in a couple times a week.Looking forward to the new CI season.

Goldblum may be 'fan approved' as Nichols but sadly, I won't be watching once Goren and Eames leave. I don't know if I'll even watch the finale as I'm nervous about how it will be handled. I have no faith in the show runner and if it does work out well then I'll be amazed but I'm not holding my breath.

I like Jeff Goldblum and I wish him the best but I wish he'd lend his talents to a more deserving show. LOCI will always be Goren for me and many other fans. The ones who just like LOCI because it's a L&O series is another story.

The way LOCI sounds like it's going to be, it may as well be L&O light. As much as I personally can't stand SVU, at least it has its own personality.
