In early May, I wrote about Law & Order's Sam Waterston starring in a production of Hamlet, here. (I like to call it “Samlet.”) Playbill has just published some great photos from the performance, link and article follows (more pics at Playbill link):

Michael Stuhlbarg, Lauren Ambrose, Sam Waterston and Margaret Colin star in the Public Theater's latest Shakespeare in the Park presentation of Hamlet.
Public artistic director Oskar Eustis stages the William Shakespeare tale with Stuhlbarg in the title role at the Delacorte Theater.
Waterston appears as Polonius opposite Ambrose as Ophelia with Andre Braugher as Claudius and Colin as Gertrude.
The company also includes David Harbour as Laertes, Kevin Carroll as Horatio, Hoon Lee as Rosencrantz, Piter Marek as Bernardo and Fortinbras, Greg McFadden as Guildenstern, Julio Monge as Osric and Francisco, Paul O'Brien as Voltemand and Priest, Gilbert Owuor as Marcellus, Jay O. Sanders as Ghost, Gravedigger and Player King and Miriam Silverman as Player Queen.

Those are really good pictures.
He was the only good one in the play, and oh, he was brilliant!!!
Great inside joke...in the L&O episode entitled "Knock Off," Jack McCoy has an argument with the Governor in which the Governor responds to one of Jack's protestations: "..quit playing Hamlet!"...
Funny because not only is Sam Waterston famous for his performance as Hamlet at NYC's Shakespeare in the Park in the 70s but he also played Polonius in the recent SITP production--the summer before this episode (which first aired 3 December 2008)...
Great site, by the way!
