The American Lung Association has announced that S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order) is the 2009 National Celebrity Christmas Seals Chairperson. The program uses stickers, or “seals” to raise funds and raise awareness of the Lung Association's work and desire for everyone to have healthy lungs. This year’s campaign theme is “Celebrate Another Year” and will have a retro look. It sounds like a great cause and it’s wonderful that Epatha will be supporting the effort. Epatha herself quit smoking a few years ago after having the habit for 23 years, and also lost two of her best friends to lung cancer.
